A Ghat on Ichchamati river named on Bongaon's greatest son Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay.  
This is a beautiful ghat to visit and also for doing picnic.




How To Reach:
By Rail – From Sealdah station board the train to Bongaon station.
By Road – Bongaon -Chakdah Bus route 7 Km distance from Bongaon & 1 Km from Bongaon -Chakdah road(State Highway No -1)

Parmadan wild life sanctuary is situated in the Naldungri region which is 28 km from Bongaon, a city and a municipality in North 24 Parganas district in the state of West Bengal, India. Nestling under the shade of the shishu, bamboo, minjiri, tut, arjun, shimul, and shirish trees, this 68 sq.km forest lies on the banks of the Ichamati river. It has been renamed as Bibhuti Bhushan Wildlife Sanctuary. Besides wild animal like the Deer, Monkey, Peacock and Rabbit, large number of birds such as Shankacheel, Neelkanth, Phooltushi, etc. are found in abundance in this forest.

How To Reach
:
By Air - The nearest Airport is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata.
By Rail – From Sealdah station board the train to Bongaon station.
By Road – Direct buses ply to Bongaon from Sealdah via Ranaghat to Nalguri bus stand. From there, it is walking distance. By van rickshaw the rate is Rs.10/- or by bus take the National Highway 34 via Dattaphulia to Parmadan.

ABOUT BONGAON  

Bongaon is located at 23.04E. it has an average elevation of 7 metres (22feet). It is the last station on the Sealdah-Bongaon Section of Easter Railway, 77km from Sealdah station. It is part of the Kolkata suburban Railway System. The Sealdah – Bongaon railway was built between 1882 and 1884. strong>Geo-political significance :Bongaon has border with Bongladesh. In Bongaon, it is called petrapole and in the Bangladesh side it is called Benapol. It is the most favoured road check post. The Indian Railway has started a weekly goods rail transport of 35 wagons, Sonar Bangla, from Bongaon. It was started by the then Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee under the NDA Government. The route was established in 1884 and the Barisal Express operated passenger services till 1947. after the partition, a mixed service (Passenger and goods) continuied till the Indo-Pakistan was of 1965. With the creation of Bangladesh, the goods train service was reintroduced for two years from 1972 but again closed for lack of goods. India and Bangladesh signed an agreement to re-establish the train link.
